Leadership Kenosha — April 2025

LK_Apr25

Leadership Kenosha’s April session focused on the theme of “Healthy Leadership,” exploring the intersections of healthcare, community well-being, and leadership presence. We were honored to be hosted at Aurora Medical Center, where we spent the day learning from professionals committed to improving public health and building healthier workplaces.

Our morning began with a welcome from Doug Yeager, Business Development – Employer Services with Aurora Health Care | Advocate Health. Doug offered an insightful overview of Aurora Medical Center, setting the stage for a day centered on health, leadership, and community impact.

We then transitioned into an engaging “World Café” style Community Conversation facilitated by the Kenosha County Public Health team. Angie Havron, Public Health Supervisor; Liane Blanck, Population Health Manager; and Public Health Strategists Michelle Hernandez, Brad Woller, and Tessa Kohler guided participants through discussions on the critical health needs facing our community. Their team encouraged LK participants to reflect on how leaders can support and engage with public health efforts in meaningful ways.

In the afternoon, we welcomed Dawn Zak, Account Executive with Aurora’s Employee Assistance Program, for her presentation Workplaces that Thrive: Psychological Safety 101. Dawn led a dynamic session exploring what it takes to build work environments where people feel safe to speak up, take risks, and bring their full selves to the table. The day ended with a high-spirited bidding war – Leadership Kenosha style. Participants were challenged to “bid” on essential leadership traits, sparking laughter, thoughtful dialogue, and a deeper understanding that effective leadership often requires prioritization. We can’t be everything to everyone, and strong leadership is about making intentional, values-based choices.
