Carthage Collage was founded in 1847 and is a private college of the liberal arts and sciences, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Carthage's picturesque campus on the Lake Michigan shore is home to 2,500 full-time and 900 part-time students. The Carthage faculty comprises nearly 150 scholars, 90 percent of whom hold the doctorate or other terminal degree. Carthage awards the Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in more than 40 subject areas and the Master of Education degree. The Direct Entry MSN program in southern Wisconsin combines online courses with hands-on labs and clinical rotations at top health care facilities in Pleasant Prairie and throughout southern Wisconsin.
